Today’s namedrop

Once I had coffee at the Hotel Edison with the late Louis Guss (Uncle Raymond in Moonstruck). It was sort of accidental: he was waiting for 3 friends for his weekly “Old Actors” lunch and he asked if he could join me. When I mentioned I was from DC, he asked if I could recommend a synagogue for his son, who’d just moved there. Yes, Uncle Raymond was Jewish.*

*But then again, who isn’t?
